Welcome To Our New Website!

Thank you for visiting the new and improved site!!

The Scan Sound website has been updated and overhauled to give our customers a better shopping experience and to make it easier to navigate through our increasing catalog of products.

Some of the key changes include:

  • Mobile browser compatibility: Not only is our site optimized for mobile browsing, it allows you to place orders on your smartphone or tablet as easily as on a standard computer. The site is hosted on a faster server, cutting down load times and ensuring speedy financial transactions.
  • Simplified navigation: The number of categories has been trimmed down to six, and each category has a number of selectable attributes for narrowing down what you are looking for. When browsing our catalog, each product displays a more detailed description, the SKU number, and a larger thumbnail image. When visiting a product page, the most important information is at the top, including a gallery of high-resolution images, with in-depth details down below.
  • Intelligent search function: Our search function is now much better at helping you find what you are looking for. When you search for an item by name, SKU, or description, all of the potential options pop up (with images). If you already know what you are looking for, the search bar will get you there quickly.
  • Improved payment options: Now you can use your Amazon account when checking out using our shopping cart system. PayPal has been fully integrated with product ordering, and as always, you can use most major credit cards to pay for your orders.
  • Faster shipping, address verification, and up-to-date shipping rates: ShipStation integration means that your expedited orders will ship more quickly and reliably without needing to contact us. Addresses with errors will get flagged before the order goes through, giving you a chance to fix typos or add missing information. And expedited shipments will get a larger discount than we could offer before, making it less costly to get your order as soon as possible.
  • Integration with social media: All of our product pages feature links for sharing through Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and more.
  • Easy-to-find answers to common questions: Information about our company, order policies, shipping options, etc. can be found at the bottom of every page. And if you can't find what you are looking for, please let us know!
  • Stay in the loop by reading our new blog: Our new blog is a platform for sharing information about our newest products, promotions, and more, without having to subscribe to a newsletter.

We hope your experience with our new website and shopping cart is positive! If you have any questions, concerns, or other feedback, do not hesitate to contact us by email or phone. Our contact links are in the top-left corner of every page.

And thank you to all of our loyal customers who shared their thoughts on the strengths and weaknesses of our old site. We depend on you to continue to improve!

I am a nurse who suddenly went deaf in one ear. I am curious to see if this concept of a single earbud can be utilized to modify a stethoscope. All of the current stethoscope just amplify to compensate for hearing loss, not complete deafness. Thank you, Jan

Most stethoscopes consist of a diaphragm that picks up sound that is channelled to two ears through tubing. If the stethoscope points down at a heart that is pumping, then the sound comes from a single sound source. The tubing going into both ears should hear the same sound, so there is no need to mix it together. In theory, the sound should be identical in both ears, so it would not matter if you only had sound going to one ear.

On the other hand, our 1-BUD single ear stereo earphones electronically mixes audio from two distinct stereophonic audio circuits. Most audio devices have two unique sound channels (for example the drums in the left ear and guitar in the right ear). Most individuals with hearing in both ears would hear the sound and feel like they are between the drums and the guitar. The brain would perceive this as stereo sound and the person would feel surrounded by the music. Our electronic mixing makes it possible for the person with hearing in only one ear to hear both the drums and guitar together in the one ear that has hearing. Otherwise, they might not hear one of those instruments.
